We understand that dedicating capacity is extremely different from what carriers are accustomed to doing, that’s why we offer the ability for carriers to ramp up slowly.
If dedicated capacity is a new concept for you, let us briefly explain how it works. When shippers engage in a dedicated fleet arrangement — a group of tractors, trailers, drivers, and other resources are assigned to exclusively carry out operations for a chosen set of facilities or lanes in a transportation network. When carriers engage in a dedicated capacity arrangement with SemiCab - we arrange for that capacity to carry out operations for a chosen set of lanes being managed for shippers on our platform.
By dedicating some or all of your capacity to SemiCab, you will get predictable income that empowers you to grow your business without a large dedicated sales team in place. By working with SemiCab, carriers gain access to thousands of dedicated freight opportunities without having to lift a finger. What does dedicating capacity really mean?
Dedicating capacity to SemiCab means that you agree to allow us to schedule some or all of your trucks to haul shipments consistently, at a fixed rate, for an agreed-upon amount of time. We would use our proprietary Orchestrated Collaboration™ approach to combine availability and demand to ensure your trucks are fully booked. This is all done by our platform, requiring no work on your part to make it happen.
When you dedicate your capacity to us, we will ensure loads are being assigned to you on a continuous basis so you can focus on the other areas of your business that need attention. If you have 10 trucks and choose to dedicate two of them to SemiCab, you would be guaranteed a consistent amount of revenue, every week, without having to change a thing for those dedicated trucks. What is required of me?
Joining the SemiCab Collaborative Transportation Platform is easy and hassle-free. To set up an account, you will need your DOT or MC number. With that in hand, you can visit our website and get started. Once your account is set up you will be asked to upload a W9, your Operation Authority and Auto Liability Insurance documents. After that, we’ll assign an Account Manager to your account to discuss your available capacity and start booking your loads.
As a SemiCab carrier, you’ll need to be able to integrate with ELD and download our SemiCab app. You’ll also be expected to meet minimum service requirements, like on-time pickup, tender acceptance, proof of delivery, etc. to keep your lane assignments. There is flexibility, but for those choosing to dedicate a large part of their capacity to SemiCab, we offer long term agreements, anywhere from three months to a year.
How will I get paid?
Getting paid in a timely fashion is crucial, we know, which is why once a load is delivered and a POD is uploaded, our platform will automatically trigger an invoice for us to pay. We pay you directly, there’s no waiting for shippers to act or respond. We also have a Quick Pay option that will allow you to get paid immediately for the lowest fee in the industry. Nobody likes waiting to get paid, with SemiCab, you won’t.
